I am a great, old tree

Offering the comfort of my shade

To those in need

Or respite from the rain

I am the rose

My petals smell as sweet

To any soul who passes

By/and by the elements I live

I am the ocean

My waves beat upon the shore

For no one

The sound heard only

By those who care to listen

Take comfort in me

Find joy in me

Feel me

Hear me

Or don’t

I will remain

But know this

When we are together

Love abounds

The smell twice as sweet

As rain in your hair
