I’ll never quite get over living

It was my choice

I left

I got on the plane

I forced the yoke

I lived through the crash

I recovered from my wounds

Found some antibiotics for the infection

Nursed the pain

Watched as one by one

More worthy heroes fell

(It’s not so far from grace to death)

Embraced those left

Learned how to eat what I could find

Learned how to walk alone under a full moon in the desert

Escaped the snake pit

Learned how to navigate the jungle from under a canopy so dense

The sun was blinding when I took that one last step

Into the light

Found I needed nothing more

To survive

Than what I already have

Inside

Still I’ll never quite get over living

Without you

The Jungle

Big, gray building

Make my day
