The Spaces Between

One year is long enough

To forget the pain

Inside a memory

Two years is long enough

To make honor

Out of the pain

Three years is long enough

To build a platform

For jumping off

Into the wild blue

Into a new you

Far afield of comfort

But not lacking in repose

When ambition lingers long enough

An inkling of the fear

Engulfing so many others

A fiction of us

entirely made up

of f(r)actional (w)holes

inches its way back in

But so, is this (?)

So, is THIS

A better choice?

Some dreams

Certainly are

More pleasant

    • Thanks! I love it when you love my poems. And I love it when you take them a step further with your comments. The word submerge is an interesting choice bringing water to mind instantly. Are we drowning our sorrows? Do tell, Wise Auntie Sharon!
